Donations and legacies

There are many ways that you can support our branch financially and all donations are very gratefully received.

We are a separately registered branch of the RSPCA and are primarily responsible for raising funds locally.

You can donate in any of the following ways (click on the links to find out more). Be assured that every penny you give will go towards looking after local animals who are in our care.

Online donations

The quickest and easiest way to support us is to send us a donation online.

Cheques / Postal Orders / Cash

Please make cheques payable to ‘RSPCA Warrington, Halton & St Helens Branch’ and post to: The Treasurer, Warrington Animal Centre, Slutchers Lane, Bank Quay, Warrington, WA1 1NA

Please do not send cash in the post. We would be pleased to accept cash or cheque donations from you if you can call in at the Animal Centre or at one of our charity shops.

If you are a tax payer, we will be able to maximise your donations by claiming back the basic rate of tax on all donations through ‘Gift Aid’ – every £1.00 you give will be worth £1.25 to us.

Please complete the Gift Aid Declaration and send it with your donation.

Donations by Direct Debit

All donations make a difference to the animals in our care; but a regular monthly income gives us the scope to do even more for the cruelly-treated and neglected animals in our area.

Leave a legacy – remember us in your Will

Why leave a legacy to the RSPCA?

It is important to make a Will to ensure your estate goes to the people and causes you care about. Leaving a legacy to a charity such as the RSPCA allows you to carry on caring long after you are gone. We help many mistreated and neglected animals every year.

To provide this vital lifeline it costs us over £250,000 a year in vets bills, food, bedding and lifesaving drugs. Leaving us a gift in your Will will help us to develop our existing services and equipment and carry on our work into the future.

It is simple to have a Will drawn up and saves a lot of aggravation and heartbreak for your relatives when you die. If you have already made your Will but you would like to leave a gift to the Branch, it’s simple to add a codicil to your existing Will.

We’re incredibly grateful to these thoughtful animal lovers and, as with any donation, their gifts are put to good use continuing the work of the branch.

Ways to give

  • You can give a specific sum of money, an item, or a piece of property (this is called a pecuniary legacy)
  • You could give all or part of what is left after your other gifts and bills have been dealt with (this is called a residuary legacy)

If you would like to help with a gift to the RSPCA in your Will, your solicitor might use the following suggested wording:

“I give the sum of £____ (or specify a share of the residue) to the RSPCA Warrington, Halton and St Helens Branch (registered charity number 232259) and I declare that the receipt of the honorary treasurer or other proper officer of the said Branch shall be a full and sufficient discharge for the said Legacy”

Or you can download and complete our legacy gift Leaflet .

 Protect your pets

Have you ever worried about who will care for your pets who outlive you? We would advise you to include them in your Will. If you haven’t identified a relative or friend who would be willing to care for your pets, the RSPCA offers a free service to find a loving home for your animals after you die.

See the Home for Life website for more information.

Donation of goods

Unwanted, re-sellable goods can be turned into cash at our fundraising events as tombola and raffle prizes. We also operate a charity shop in Warrington (Bridge St) where we sell good quality clothing, household goods, books etc.

Donations of goods that we could sell are always welcome – please drop off at any of the shops or at the Animal Centre in Warrington.

Gifts of cat or dog food (tinned or dry), old towels, and toys are always welcome at the Animal Centre.

We also collect used postage stamps and used ink cartridges for recycling (only Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, Dell and Canon accepted – see here for a list of accepted cartridges). Drop your used stamps or cartridges off at the Animal Centre or at the charity shops.
